Typeform to Stack
Welcome to your guide for migrating forms, surveys, and associated data from Typeform to Stack. This guide will help you transition smoothly and make the most of Stack’s features like CRM integration, marketing automation, and advanced analytics.
Important: Ensure you migrate these components when switching from Typeform to Stack:
- Forms
- Contacts
- Automations
- Domains & QR Codes
- Reports
Migrate Forms
Section titled “Migrate Forms”Typeform allows users to collect information through forms, surveys, and polls, with responses downloadable in CSV format.
Step 1: View TypeForms
Section titled “Step 1: View TypeForms”- Log in to Typeform: Access your workspace to manage forms and surveys.
- View Form Questions: Click on each form to see the questions on the left side of the preview screen.
- Document Existing Automations: Note any automation sequences like form logic, calculations, and notifications.
Step 2: Recreate Questions in Stack
Section titled “Step 2: Recreate Questions in Stack”- Log in to Stack: Navigate to
Contacts > Settings > Custom Fields. - Recreate Form Questions: Add custom value folders for all form questions, ensuring data types match.
Step 3: Recreate Forms & Surveys in Stack
Section titled “Step 3: Recreate Forms & Surveys in Stack”- Recreate Forms and Surveys: Create individual forms and surveys, adding corresponding questions.
- Recreate Form Design: Use Stack’s customization options to match your original Typeform design.
- Add Form Builder Automations: Replicate automation sequences, including logic and notifications.
- Test Forms: Ensure forms perform correctly.
Migrate Contacts
Section titled “Migrate Contacts”Typeform submissions may lack email or phone fields, which are required for Stack Contacts.
Step 1: Export Form Responses from Typeform
Section titled “Step 1: Export Form Responses from Typeform”- Export Typeform Data: Access your form in My Workspace, go to Results, and select Responses.
- Download Data: Select all responses and download them in CSV format for backup.
Step 2: Prepare CSV for Stack Import
Section titled “Step 2: Prepare CSV for Stack Import”- Check Date Formats: Ensure all date fields are in
YYYY-MM-DDformat. - Encode Special Characters: Use UTF-8 encoding to handle special characters.
- Clean Up Data: Remove line breaks, emojis, and unnecessary characters.
- Recreate Custom Fields: Go to
Contacts > Settings > Custom Fieldsin Stack to add necessary fields.
Step 3: Import Contacts into Stack
Section titled “Step 3: Import Contacts into Stack”- Start Import Process: Navigate to the Contacts section and click the Import Contacts button.
- Upload CSV File: Select and upload your prepared CSV file.
- Map Fields: Align CSV fields with Stack fields, creating custom fields if necessary.
- Assign Tags and Lists: Apply tags like “Typeform Import” during import.
- Complete Import: Click Import to add contacts to your account.
Step 4: Review Imported Data
Section titled “Step 4: Review Imported Data”- Review: Ensure all data, including contacts and submissions, is accurate.
- Cross-Check with Typeform Data: Compare data in Stack with original Typeform data for accuracy.
Migrate Automation and Follow-Ups
Section titled “Migrate Automation and Follow-Ups”Step 1: Review Existing Automations in Typeform
Section titled “Step 1: Review Existing Automations in Typeform”- Review automation sequences that can be recreated in Stack workflows, such as follow-up messaging and integrations.
Step 2: Recreate Automations in Stack
Section titled “Step 2: Recreate Automations in Stack”- Set up Triggers and Actions: Use Stack’s automation workflows for sequences like follow-up emails.
- Test Automations: Ensure each automation triggers correctly.
Migrate Form Domains & QR Codes
Section titled “Migrate Form Domains & QR Codes”Step 1: Document and Remove Typeform Domain
Section titled “Step 1: Document and Remove Typeform Domain”- Document your Typeform custom domain settings.
Step 2: Add 301 Redirect in Stack
Section titled “Step 2: Add 301 Redirect in Stack”- Setup a Redirect: Go to
Sites > URL Redirects. - Test Sharing and Accessibility: Ensure forms are accessible across platforms.
Step 3: Add API Domain in Stack
Section titled “Step 3: Add API Domain in Stack”- Rebrand forms with your domain by navigating to
Settings > Business Profile.
Step 4: Document Forms with QR Codes in Typeform
Section titled “Step 4: Document Forms with QR Codes in Typeform”- Access the Share panel in Typeform to document existing QR codes.
Step 5: Add QR Codes in Stack
Section titled “Step 5: Add QR Codes in Stack”- Create QR Code: Go to
Sites > QR Codes > Create QR code. - Attach Stack Form URLs: Add your Stack form URLs and test for analytics.
Exporting and Generating New Data
Section titled “Exporting and Generating New Data”Step 1: Export Reports from Typeform
Section titled “Step 1: Export Reports from Typeform”- Generate Report: Open your form, go to the Results panel, and click Summary to generate a report.
- Show Open-ended Questions: Toggle to display these in your report.
Step 2: Save the Report as a PDF
Section titled “Step 2: Save the Report as a PDF”- Save as PDF: Use the Print option to save your report as a PDF for safekeeping.
Step 3: Form Submissions and Dashboard Widget Reporting
Section titled “Step 3: Form Submissions and Dashboard Widget Reporting”- Explore where form responses appear and utilize custom widgets for advanced reporting.
