Setting Up Branded Domains

Purpose of Branded Domains

Branded domains are used across various system resources in Stack, including:

• Calendar bookings
• Surveys
• Hosted materials
• Email links
• System-generated pages

Setting Up Your Branded Domain

1. Choose a Subdomain

   • Common choices:
     • go
     • pages
     • www
   • Format: subdomain.yourdomain.com
   • Example: go.yourdomain.com

2. Add Domain

   • Go to Business Settings > Branded Domain
   • Enter your chosen subdomain
   • Click “Add Domain”

3. Verification Methods

   • Automatic (Supported Providers)

     • Click “Connect”
     • Authorize through your domain provider
     • Supported providers:
       • GoDaddy
       • Other integrated providers

   • Manual (Other Providers)

     • Click “Add Record Manually”
     • Add CNAME record:
       • Host: Your chosen subdomain
       • Target: brand.ludicrous
       • TTL: Default value

4. Verify Domain

   • Click “Verify Records”
   • Verification time:
     • Typically: 5 minutes
     • Maximum: 24 hours
   • Check status periodically
   • Wait for “Verified” status

Best Practices

1. Domain Selection

   • Use a subdomain for system resources
   • Reserve main domain for website
   • Keep it simple and memorable

2. Verification

   • Wait 5 minutes before first verification
   • Check periodically
   • Allow up to 24 hours if needed
   • Verify again if not immediate

3. DNS Management

   • Keep DNS records updated
   • Monitor for changes
   • Document configuration
