Automatic abandoned cart checkout emails for online store
An abandoned cart occurs when a potential customer adds items to their online shopping cart but doesn’t complete the checkout process. This can happen for various reasons, such as distractions, technical issues, or uncertainties about the purchase.
Importance of Abandoned Checkout Notifications
Section titled “Importance of Abandoned Checkout Notifications”Automatic abandoned checkout notifications are essential for re-engaging potential leads and converting them into customers. By sending timely reminders to users who have left items in their carts, you can bring them back to your online store and encourage them to complete their purchases. This feature helps maximize revenue and optimize the conversion rate of your e-commerce business.
How Abandoned Checkout Notifications Work
Section titled “How Abandoned Checkout Notifications Work”The automatic abandoned checkout notification feature is enabled by default for all businesses using Stack. This means that abandoned checkout emails will automatically be sent to customers who have provided their email addresses but did not complete the checkout process.
By default, notifications are sent 10 hours after cart abandonment. However, you can customize this timing to better suit your strategy. Adjust these settings under Payments > Settings > Notifications.
Customizing Abandoned Checkout Notifications
Section titled “Customizing Abandoned Checkout Notifications”1. Override Default Email Templates
Section titled “1. Override Default Email Templates”Enhance the effectiveness of your notifications by customizing email templates using the email template builder. Here’s how you can do it:
- Use the Checkout page URL custom value under E-commerce custom fields to direct customers back to their abandoned checkout page with items already in their cart.
- Utilize the Products list page URL custom value under E-commerce to direct customers to the products list page, showcasing all items available in your online store.
2. Dynamic Product Display
Section titled “2. Dynamic Product Display”Make your abandoned checkout emails more visually appealing and personalized by using the shopping cart element in the email builder. This feature allows you to dynamically display the products currently in the customer’s cart directly within the email content.
3. Adjust Notification Timing
Section titled “3. Adjust Notification Timing”If the default 10-hour timing doesn’t align with your business strategy, you can adjust it. Navigate to Payments > Settings > Notifications to modify the timing as per your preferences.
The default email template will be sent automatically, displaying products dynamically without any additional steps required. Customize these templates to better fit your brand and engage your customers effectively.
