Set Expiry for Certificates

With Stack, you can manage the expiration of certificates issued to users, ensuring they remain valid and up-to-date. Here’s how you can set expiry dates for certificates:

How to Set an Expiry Date

Step 1: Choose Your Level of Expiry

You have the flexibility to set the expiry at two different levels:

• Template Level: Set a default expiry for all certificates generated from a specific template.
• Issued Certificates Level: Customize the expiry for each certificate after it has been issued.

Step 2: Setting Expiry at the Template Level

When configuring a certificate template, you can select from various expiry options. This will automatically apply to all certificates issued using this template unless overridden.

Step 3: Setting Expiry for Issued Certificates

For certificates that have already been issued, you can choose from the following expiry options:

• Never: The certificate will not expire.
• Immediately: The certificate will expire right away.
• Select a Date: Manually choose a specific expiry date.

Additional Information

• Reminder Emails: Users will receive reminder emails 2 days and 7 days before their certificate expires.
• Access on Expiry: Once a certificate expires, the preview will no longer be available to the user.
• Priority of Expiry Settings: Note that expiry settings applied to issued certificates will take precedence over those set at the template level.

By managing certificate expirations effectively, you can ensure compliance and keep your users informed.
