Creating and Editing Custom Objects

Custom Objects in Stack offer a robust way to organize and manage specialized data, such as properties, pets, events, or legal cases. This guide will walk you through creating and editing these objects to suit your needs.

Note: The Custom Objects feature is available on the $497 plan, with a limit of three custom objects per location.

  1. Navigate to Account > Settings > Objects.
  2. Click on Add Custom Object.
  • Singular Name: Enter the singular name for the object, such as “Pet”.
  • Plural Name: Enter the plural name, like “Pets”.
  • Internal Name: The internal name and primary field are created by default. To edit the internal name, click the </> icon.
  • Primary Display Field: Add a name for the primary display field, such as “Pet Name” or “Pet Identification Number”.
  • Icon: Choose an icon to help easily identify the custom object.
  • Description: Provide a description to clarify the purpose of the object.

After filling in the details, click on Create Custom Object.

Once created, your custom objects will appear on the same page. Click on any custom object to edit its details. Please note that the primary display field and internal names cannot be changed after creation.

To delete a custom object:

  1. Click on the three dots next to the custom object’s name.
  2. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
  3. Type “DELETE” in the text box to confirm.

Warning: Deleting a custom object is irreversible. All associated records, workflows, and custom fields will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage your Custom Objects in Stack, ensuring your data is organized and accessible.
