How to create invoices
Invoicing is crucial for managing your business finances. It helps track expenses and ensures you receive payment for your services. With Stack, creating and managing invoices is straightforward. This guide will walk you through creating, editing, adding discounts and taxes, and sending invoices.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”With Stack, you can send invoices to your clients using the products you’ve set up in your account. If you’re not using Stripe Connect, you can still manage invoices, but you’ll need to record payments manually. For more details, refer to the guide on using invoices without Stripe Connect.
Creating a New Invoice
Section titled “Creating a New Invoice”- Navigate to the Payments tab and select the Invoices section.
- Click the New button to start creating an invoice.
- Add global terms of service or notes by clicking the gear icon next to the + New button.
Editing Invoice Information
Section titled “Editing Invoice Information”- Click on the text in the “From” section to edit the sender’s information.
- Change the image by clicking it, which opens the media library for selecting or uploading a new image.
- Add client details and modify the invoice number, issue date, and due date.
- Click Add Item to include products from your product list.
- Adjust the price and quantity for each item as needed.
Adding Taxes to Your Invoice
Section titled “Adding Taxes to Your Invoice”- Click on Tax Settings.
- Select Add Tax.
- Enter the tax name, rate (in %), and a description or tax ID number.
Adding Discounts to Your Invoice
Section titled “Adding Discounts to Your Invoice”- Click the Add Discount icon to apply a discount to the invoice.
Sending an Invoice
Section titled “Sending an Invoice”- After creating the invoice, send it to your client using the green button in the top right corner.
- Choose to send the invoice via email or text. You can also test the sending process using test mode by selecting the advanced options.
Checking Invoice Status
Section titled “Checking Invoice Status”- Go to the Invoices tab to view a list of invoices and their statuses.
- Filter invoices by status or date range for easier management.
Invoices are also accessible in the Transactions tab, where you can review successful or failed transactions related to your invoices.
