How to Deliver Digital Products for E-commerce Stores?

Overview

As a store owner using Stack, you can effortlessly deliver digital products to your customers. Once a purchase is made, customers receive immediate access to their digital products through secure download links sent directly to their email. You can manage and organize these digital files on the Product Details page of any product. Customers can securely download their purchases via the Customer Access Center, using a one-time password (OTP) login flow.

Using Stack for Digital Product Delivery

For Store Owners

When creating a product variant, you can specify whether the product is Physical or Digital. Here’s how:

1. Navigate to Payments > Products.
2. Select a product and go to the Variant Page.
3. Under Shipping and Delivery, choose the product type.

For digital products, you can upload up to 10 files, each with a maximum size of 100 MB. If you need to upload additional files, consider creating a ZIP file under 100 MB. Supported file types include images, audio, video, documents, and ZIP files. Remember to save your changes after uploading the files.

You can also create different variants for a product. For example, if you’re selling books, you might offer variants like Ebook, Audiobook, or Physical Book.

Ensure the “Enable Order Confirmation Email” toggle is turned on to deliver digital products via email. Find this setting under Payments > Settings > Notifications.

For Customers

After completing the checkout process, you’ll receive an Order Confirmation Email. This email includes an “Access Downloads” button, which allows you to retrieve your digital files. Clicking this button will take you to the Customer Access Center, where you’ll need to log in using an OTP sent to the email used during checkout.

You can also access your digital downloads directly via the following URL format:

Important Notes

• Digital product delivery is exclusive to orders placed through E-commerce stores.
• Cash on Delivery (COD) is not available for orders that include digital products.
• Shipping fees do not apply to digital products. If a physical product is included in the cart, standard shipping charges will apply.
• If a physical product is purchased using COD, any digital upsell products must be paid for using alternative online payment methods.
• You can download a maximum of 10 files, each limited to 100 MB.
• Ensure the “Enable Order Confirmation Email” toggle is activated to facilitate email delivery of digital products.
• Customers must be logged in to download their files.
• All files will be downloaded separately, not as a zipped file.
• Digital products in an order will be automatically fulfilled, with fulfillment details left as empty fields.
