Understanding the Basics

Connections to third-party apps in Stack are established at the account level. This means each account maintains its own unique connection with the third-party application.

• Single App Installation: When you install an app that requires a connection to a specific account, you’ll be prompted to connect the app immediately after installation.

• Bulk App Installation: If you’re installing an app across multiple accounts, the connection request won’t automatically trigger during installation. Users must connect the app individually within each account’s marketplace.

Supported Authentication Methods

Stack supports three authentication methods for connecting with third-party apps:

1. OAuth: Log in to the third-party app and authorize the integration directly.

2. API Keys: Copy the API key from the third-party app and paste it into Stack.

3. Basic Auth: Use the username and password credentials of your third-party app.
