Manage payment methods displayed with Stripe integration

When using Stack with Stripe as your default payment provider, payment methods are dynamically displayed to your customers. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the payment methods supported and how you can manage them.

Supported Payment Methods

As of today, Stack supports the following payment methods when integrated with Stripe:

Managing Payment Methods

To customize which payment methods are available to your customers, you’ll need to adjust settings in your Stripe dashboard. Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings in your Stripe account.
2. Go to Connect -> Payment Methods -> Your Account.
3. Ensure you select the Stack configurations from the dropdown, as your Stripe account might be linked to multiple platforms.

Configurations Available in Stack

Within Stack, you have four configurations to manage payment methods across different channels:

• Invoice: Used for one-time invoices or recurring invoices with auto payments turned off, as well as Text2Pay links. Default methods include:

  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH Direct Debit, Affirm, Klarna, AfterPay, Link, Amazon Pay, and Revolut Pay.

• InvoiceWithAutopayment: For recurring invoices with auto-payments enabled. Default methods include:

  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH Direct Debit.

• Store: For online store payments on websites. Default methods include:

  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Affirm, Klarna, AfterPay, Link, Amazon Pay, and Revolut Pay.

• Default: Used for 1-step and 2-step order forms, payment links, memberships, and communities. Default methods include:

  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Amazon Pay, and Revolut Pay.

To turn off a specific payment method, choose the appropriate configuration, select the payment method, and toggle the option to turn it off.

Additional Considerations

• For recurring payments or subscriptions, ensure that the desired payment method is enabled in both Stripe Settings and Billing Payment Methods.

• Offering a variety of payment methods can increase conversion rates by providing flexibility to customers across different regions. For instance:

  • IDeal - Popular in the Netherlands
  • Bancontact - Common in Belgium
  • Sepa Direct Debit - Common in the European Union

All order and transaction details will be recorded under the Payments menu, similar to credit card transactions. This includes the functionality of existing triggers like Order Submitted and Payment Received. Note that changes from Stripe may take a few days to propagate across all accounts.
